Happy 8th Anniversary, Honey!

Can you believe it? It just keeps getting better!

Snuggling...

It is more challenging to find time to snuggle with each of my boys individually now that there are two of them. But I have been making a conscious effort to spend time with each of them when the other is asleep. Sometimes that means that the one I am spending time with is also asleep (Sam)! Or sometimes the time spent together is while I am the one sleeping...either way, we are getting some snuggle time around here.

Lucas is hilarious...

Today Lucas and I had an exchange that went like this:

Me: Lucas, you need a diaper change.
Lucas: Not right now, Thomas has to finish shunting cars on the track.
Me: Ok, I am going to go put Sam down for a nap, I will be right back.

5 minutes later Lucas came into my room and the conversation continued:
Lucas: Mom, I want you to come change me now.
Me: I can't, I am putting Sam down for a nap. In a minute, I will come change your diaper.

Long pause.

Lucas: Oh alright. I will go shunt some more.

Scooter Whiz

Lucas is getting really fast on the scooter. It's a good thing he has a helmet now because he wiped out for the first time today. Enjoy these two video clips:

FAMILY NIGHT

Tonight for Family Night, Lucas decorated his scooter with stickers. Earlier this week he rode scooters with a girl who had Dora Stickers on her scooter, so he wanted some on his. Also, Doug took him to get a helmet today (We ordered one last week for "3 years and up." When he tried it on and it was too small, he said, "Mommy, my head is so big." Now he has one for "5 years and up." It barely fits him.

Jordan in NYC!!!

Jordan came to NYC for a few days (her Christmas present from Marty). Lucas called her "Gordon" the entire time.

I put the boys in daycare and we spent a day together. It was a blast! See for yourself...

Family Night (from last week)

So, as you can see, our plants were getting too big for their cups, so we decided to re-pot them.

But then several of them broke during the transfer, and Lucas wanted to start over (the arugula had stopped growing anyway):

And here are a few other pictures:

FAMILY NIGHT and the rest of our week...

I decided to keep it simple today. After all, I am just recovering from the flu (or whatever that was!) and now the boys are sick. Plus, Doug had to work today. And Sam fussed literally all day except during his naps which were only 45 minutes long (usually they are 3-4 hours each and he takes 2-3 of them a day). Needless to say, it has been a long day. Family Night consisted of a book and making train cookies.

This is what Sam did during the cookie-making, except that in addition to looking adorable, he was also fussing:

Oh, and an update on our plants from Family Night last week:

I chose the "I Knew You Could" book for Family Night because Lucas got a new scooter this week and it took some time for him to learn to ride it well. He was discouraged at first, but I insisted that he could do it, and he practiced in the basement a lot. Now he is a pro!

Lucas also got a few other new things this week:

(a new cup with his name on it from Mema)

(a new toy...oh wait, that is for baby Sam, but Lucas is just "using it for a little bit")

And both boys got new shirts from Grandpa and Grandma Jo for Valentine's Day (notice Luc's eyes are shut in the picture on the left...this is what he does when I tell him something he doesn't want to hear):

And Sam learned to do something new this week. He waited until I was really busy (well, I was on the phone with Home Depot for about 25 minutes trying to get a replacement handle for our toilet), and he did this:

And last but not least, this is Lucas getting more adorable and grown-up by the minute:

And here he is using my mini laptop to play Thomas and Friends:

Sam is 3 months old today!

Our beautiful, sweet Sam is 3 months old today. We love him so much!

Also, yesterday he rolled over for the first time. I missed it, but Grandma Susan saw it. Then we caught it on video together.

And why was Grandma Susan in town? Well, on Monday I got sick suddenly with a fever of 103, a migraine, and some tummy trouble. I called Julianne, who came over immediately (even though she was sick too) until Doug could come home from work. He called his mom who came in Tuesday morning and left Tuesday night. I got a full day of rest! Thank you! I am definitely feeling better now...

Thank you too, Julianne, for coming to my rescue:

Our neighbor loaned us her Bumbo seat, and here are a few pictures:

Two naked boys:

Aunt Karen (Rohner) sent Sam this adorable blanket. But Lucas wanted to be "baby Lukie" for a few minutes before it officially became Sam's blanket:

Family Night update...our seeds are growing!
